I'm trying to string these old pictures that I scanned, into some sort of story of my life. Yes, it sounds insane, but it needs to be documented somehow.
The local newspapers like to get pictures like this for their 'remember when' columns. This is the Bath Majorettes. My Mom is in the first row, far left and her sister, my aunt Dianne is in the back row, third from the left. My Grandmother and a lady named Lucy Kirkham used to 'train' the Bath Majorette troupe for many years. I remember having to go through the routines myself, preparing for the Bath Canada Day parade. I think back then, we called it Dominion day though.

This blog will be the " Cathy Jane Beazer Christmas: This is YOUR Life " Column.
I know that my Dad is the dark haired gent on the far left of this pictures but I have no idea who the other people are. It seems strange that my Dads foot has a large bandage around it.

My Grandmother Guthrie moved her family of five from Millhaven to the Bath Telephone office in the early 1950's. I call this picture "Grandma as Ernestine". I'm guessing this shot was taken between 1951-1956.

I know this girls name is Gail, she was a friend of my mom's... i think her last name was Rattray. This is a typical 50's pose I believe...In front of a car:)

Here is another picture of Gail and her friend and my parents:

My Dad did a lot of construction jobs over the years, I have a feeling this picture was taken in Newfoundland, as he referred to the place a lot in his letters he sent home to my Mom just after the married in 1957.
This is my Grandfather Mac Guthrie. He owned the garage on the corner of the main street and the county road, just a few blocks from the Telephone Office that my Grandmother moved into.

Although I have never been told this, I am assuming that this is how Gladys Lewis (My mothers mother) met Mac Guthrie. Confirmation needs to be clarified on this, but I think that they married on New Years Day 1957. My folks were married the same year in October. How odd that must have been for my Mom to be a newlywed the same time as her mother:) My aunt, Carolee Jenny Guthrie appeared on the scene on February 3rd 1958 and I was born 22 months after that on January 17th 1960. No wonder people thought Carolee and I were sisters as we lived in the same house for a few years before my parents house. My Grandmother Guthries house was just up the hill from ours, so when I wanted to run away from home, I took my old sheepdog 'boots' and ran away to Grandma's for the afternoon:)
Here is a picture of my parents in my Grandmothers front yard on Summerset crescent in Houghton Park in Bath. This was the first type of subdivision in the area. My Grandfather Guthrie started working at C.I.L. and I guess buying a house in the suburb's was the thing to do back then. Like I have mentioned before, after I was born, we had an apartment in the basement of my grandparents house till we bought our house on Westbury Avenue.
