The work week has ended

I am happy that it is finally Saturday, but now I have no incentive to do anything but relax. Someone told me once that you are not required to work on your days off...if that's the case then how does one obtain a clean house?

Anyways, Thursday night I went to see a show at the Elixir with The Lowest of Low & my friend Shaynes band The Jay Harris Band. I met my friend Ted at the Camden east exit of the 401 and prayed it wasn't going to snow, like it did last time we traveled the 401 together.

I took a bunch of pictures, but that damn disco ball kept interfering with the lights...grrrr!!! The show was fantastic as it was so great to witness Shayne behind the drums again. Jay Harris is a true lyrical genius and his songs were complimented nicely with Shayne and Robbie G doing what they do best. We didn't stick around for all of the Lowest of low's performance as it was getting late (early) and I had to work the next day.

Friday dragged on and on at work as I only had 4 hours sleep. Then we went out with our usual Friday night gang for dinner at The Last Chance Cafe. It was there that I learned of the death of my neighbour Wendy Black. This woman courageously lived the last 2 and a half years of life with a devastating form of cancer. She spent a lot of time with my Mom in her final days and for that I am grateful. I have known Wendy for over 20 years although I have not seen her for the last year as she was so ill, I pray she is greeted by my Mom as enters heaven.

Rest In Peace Wendy
