This post is to salute a friend.

For some reason over the past few years, I have had an overwhelming desire to take pictures to try & validate my existence. Its like I am trying to tell a story with pictures...does that sound insane or what? This may explain the fact that I never follow a theme for my portraits, it could be a rock band or a dog chasing a puck on a frozen lake.

Here is a picture of Grigg and I at the Grad Club last June:

Last March, Grigg's training class threw a surprise birthday party for him at work! Of course I had my camera ready!

There there is a wild story about Grigg drinking green beer on St. Patricks Day and waking up the next day with a green moustache...

Anyway, Grigg sent me an email yesterday to say how much he apreciated reading my blog. That he looks at things and wonders what it would look like through my camera lens. So the time spent on this little project is worth it!

Here's to you Grigg...

In the summer this planter, just outside my front door is full of pretty flowers...can you imagine how nice they are going to look? (73 sleeps to May 24 weekend)

And here is a picture of my husband shovelling off our roof on Saturday.

Now its time to run...Rick Mercer's Monday Report is on.

A sign from above

So the highlight of my weekend, so far, has been walking out to the middle of a farmers field to watch a 140 yr old tree cut down. As my husband and I walked down a snowmobile trail to get to the site, he found a foil balloon that was caught in a tree. When he went to get it untangled, he noticed there was a note tied to the ribbons. This is what it said:

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

loosely translated it says: " We beg that this year the three gods come out "

spooky no?

I think its aliens just trying to find a place to land their ship.

Tomorrow we are taking a drive up around Forest Mills on our way to Belleville. I need to stop somewhere and wash my car too...Now that I finally have the license sticker, I think I can finally clear the mud off the back plate:)

The week flew by in a blurr

I cant believe that I haven't taken any pictures this week and its almost Friday!!! The only time I felt like taking a picture was when I spotted this guy who put his car into a rock cut during the snow storm on Tuesday morning. But I didn't have time to dig my camera out of the bag in time.

Did the big count down today....77 days till May 24 weekend:)

Ahhhh summer!!

This is the last day of February

And it flew by quickly! I managed to get a lot of work done today and even stayed till 5, instead of the usual 4ish time that I usually slide out! Its amazing the people you see when you stay past your shift. I managed to chat with Mitchell for bit. Sounds like he had a blast at the Motley Crue show in Ottawa last night.
Tonight I had originally planned on posting a bunch of pictures to my newly expanded photobucket page....but that may have to wait till later in the week. I'm feeling rather lazy tonight.
Believe it or not, I took NO pictures today, so I will post two of the last pics that I took with that sweet nikon 5200. This is a picture of a hand-carved flower that my friend Wendi Hudson brought back from Cuba for me a few years ago.

And this is one of Jethro being a couch potato: (this pic was taken by Billy)

March 1st tomorrow kids...lets pray for the beginning of some great weather:)

Ive had a lot of fun with this camera from work!!!

What an excuse to get outside and take some pictures!!!! It was a beautiful day today so I made a little tour out to the old abandoned Ernestown Station, just north of Millhaven. It was a bit of a walk up to the building, but I was just clicking and clicking all the way up to the back of the structure.

It always amazes me when I see such great stonework from centuries before:

Jebus, when I walked to the front of the building, I found the door was kicked open:

Thats when I bolted!
I took a drive up to number 2 highway and found this barn that is almost totally ripped apart. Poor barn:(

Then I travelled down old Millhaven Road. This picture is of the land where Asselstine Mill once stood.

Back to Bath. This is the back of the park bench that has a plaque in honour of my mother.

This is a shot of the latticework under my deck in my back yard:

And the build up of ice over my kitchen window: (Its down now)

I call this 1headlight

I have an angel in my kitchen:

Using the macro feature:

This is a weird plant that I have had for 15 years:

Here is one of Jethro imitating a prarie dog:

And last, but not least, Emmy, the other cat in the house:

Man I had a lot of fun with that little camera. I almost dont want to take it back tomorrow. I am sure it will be returning back here a few more times!!

We went to the MacKinnon's for dinner last night.

It was a grand photoshoot for this aspiring camera-hag! Our friends Mike and Johanna invited us over for an evening of great food & fine conversation. This house is something I could only dream about. The structure and all the furnishings are from the 1800's. I have tried to find the article that was published in Country Living magazine about their house a few years ago. Alas, I have had no luck in that aspect.
So here are a few pics of this lovely place that the MacKinnons call home.
This is the barn that I would love to take pics from the inside out:

Its a beautiful sunny day today...I hope I can get out and snap a pile more pictures before I have to return this camera tomorrow. Happy Sunday!

Who ordered this snow?

I woke up at 5:30 this morning to the tune of the snowplow ripping through the street behind us. For some reason I thought it was a week day so I got up and took a shower. It wasn't until I put conditioner in my hair that I realized that it was Saturday! DUH!
Yesterday morning I awoke to a full moon shining in my face. By the time I got ready for work and driving up the road, it was almost gone. But I did manage to get a few snaps of it. This was taken on the side of 133 highway around 7AM.

Yesterday I signed out a Nikon 5200 digital camera from work. It is almost the same body structure of my own little camera only its a 5 megapixel unit. I took a few tester pics yesterday. This is a house I found down in the William street area. Man I love stone houses!

I'm just waiting for the mister to get his butt in the shower so we can head it out to foodie b's for groceries. Then we are meeting Harly and Judy (I think) for breakfast at 9. Tonight we are off to Mike and Johanna MacKinnons for dinner. I'm hoping Mike will let me take some pictures in and around his barn!!! Maybe I can bribe him somehow!

This summer will rock

I have my holidays booked and I can hardly wait till we get the boat in the water and jet off to parts unknown. So there is only 11 weeks left till may 24 weekend!! Another great thing about this upcoming summer is that there is a rumour of an upcoming Pearl Jam tour. It is suppose to be every two years and the last one was in 2003. This is how pathetic I am, I already have asked my friend Shayne to come with me. Of course he said yes....I just hope his wife doesn't mind!
Last week I received my copy of Pearl Jams Christmas record. This is one of the perks of being a fan club member. Another major reason I am still a fan club member is that you are assured of getting at least 2 tickets to a concert when they tour in your area.
Today was basically a no-picture day, so this is all I could think of to snap!

Man I love PJ. I must be their oldest fan alive! I first joined their fan club back in 1991 and if I had kept up membership, I would be in the front row of every concert of theirs that I could attend.
So tomorrow is Friday. I have a lot of housework to get caught up on as last weekend was spend being sick. Damn, I can hardly wait to ride that old vacuum again:)

Last night was spent cleaning up this site

When I first started my blog, my pictures were pasting in a smaller version than they were. That bugged me. So I somehow figured out how to post my pictures in a larger format, but the text boxes remained smaller than the pictures. Last weekend, my friend Shayne guided me through the manipulation of code and Voila...The text boxes are the same time as the enlarged pictures. Yea, sounds boring, but the inconsistency of the spacing and the large and small pictures were driving me insane. Last night I burned off over 3 hours in posting all my pictures to my photobucket site to tag up here.

So I left for work early this morning as I wanted to take a few minutes to check out an abandoned house I have viewed a few times in Barriefield. If I had boots on I would have crawled in a window, but there was a small security sign on the outside wall so I held myself back.

After looking closer, I discovered that the one side of the house was original limestone. I wonder if there is any documentation on this old structure as I would love to know the history of it!

There is a bush just outside my living room window that is the recipient of all excess moisture that runs off the roof. It looked so pretty this afternoon with the sun shining through the ice that had developed on its skinny little branches.

And to wrap it all up, can you guess what this is?

I watched the East Coast Music Awards last night

It was a great show and of course the sound was phenomenal. God Bless the CBC! The show ended with a performance by The Trews. They were joined onstage with their mentor, Gordie Johnson. (formerly of Big Sugar) I have been fortunate enough to be in the front row of the last three Trews shows in Kingston & cant express how amazing they are on stage! This prompted me to dig out some of my old Trews pics from AJ's from last April. It sounds strange, but I was probably the oldest person at the very front of the stage, but I used the excuse that I wanted some good pictures:)See how close I was to John-Angus?

Colin was jumpin for joy in this picture:

I love The Trews and am pleased they won at least one of the three ECMA'a that they were nominated for. Next up, the Junos in April.
